Why we chose it
Water is Water Quality & Advanced Filtration (10) in the 12 CORE Principles for Healthy Building Design. It starts with testing the source water and filtering out what should not be there.
Natural Action is the structured water brand Brian recommends. Its units use vortex flow and need no electricity, no chemicals, and no replacement cartridges on the structuring side.
A structuring unit is not a filter: it changes how water moves, not what is in it. That is why we always design the filtration first and place the Natural Action units after it.
Our review
We have designed, fabricated, and installed whole-home systems with Natural Action units, including MR-24, SPU-200, and HD Series units, in stainless assemblies we build in our own shop.

How we design it in
Source water testing sets the treatment chain: sediment and carbon stages, ultraviolet where the source calls for it, then the Natural Action units, sized to the home’s flow.
The treatment wall is planned with Healthy Plumbing Design (09), so supply lines, manifolds, and isolation valves work together, with a pressure gauge at each stage so the system can be checked.

How much does a Natural Action system cost?
At Natural Action’s 2026 list prices, devices run from about $279 for a portable unit to $1,499 for the Whole Home HD-24. A whole-home system also includes the filtration stages and installation, which we price in your proposal. See the five devices we recommend most.
Can it be added to an existing home?
Yes. Whole-home units go on the main supply line, so they can be added to an existing home. In new construction, we plan the treatment wall while the framing is still open.
What maintenance does it need?
The structuring units need no electricity, no chemicals, and no replacement cartridges. The filtration stages ahead of them need cartridge changes on the filter maker’s schedule.
Does structured water replace filtration?
No. A structuring unit changes how water moves, not what is in it. Test your water and filter it first.
