Founder & CEO of SENERGY360
Brian Johnson
Healthy Homes Require More Than a Consultant. They Require Leadership.
Most homes are designed by an architect, engineered by several different specialists, built by a contractor, and then evaluated for health or environmental concerns only after something goes wrong.
SENERGY360 takes a fundamentally different approach.
We bring architecture, building science, construction, environmental health, human wellness, and building performance together before critical decisions are made.
At the center of that process is Brian Johnson — Founder and CEO of SENERGY360, licensed General Contractor, triple-certified Building Biologist, healthy home design strategist, and more than 23 years of hands-on construction experience.
Brian doesn't simply consult on healthy homes. He leads their integration.
The Whole Home
One Professional Bridging Construction, Building Science & Human Health
The healthy building industry has many talented specialists.
- Architects
- Builders
- Mechanical engineers
- Building scientists
- Indoor environmental professionals
- Building Biologists
- Lighting designers
- Water specialists
- EMF consultants
Each may understand an important part of the home.
The challenge is that a home does not operate as separate parts. Every building system affects another.
- A tighter building envelope changes ventilation requirements.
- Ventilation affects humidity and indoor air quality.
- Humidity influences mold risk.
- Electrical design affects EMF exposure.
- Lighting affects the indoor environment and human circadian biology.
- Plumbing materials affect water quality.
- Material selections affect indoor chemical exposure.
- Solar, backup power, electrical infrastructure, low-voltage systems, HVAC, waterproofing, and building-envelope assemblies must all work together.
When these decisions are made independently, conflicts often appear during construction—when they become expensive and difficult to correct.
SENERGY360 exists to connect those systems into one coordinated strategy.

Why Brian Johnson?
Construction Experience First
Brian's understanding of healthy buildings began in the construction industry—not in a classroom.
His career started in the lumber industry, where he became a Certified Lumber Grader and journeyman equipment operator. Working directly with lumber production, grading, transportation, and storage gave him an early understanding of material performance.
It also exposed him to something that would ultimately influence the direction of his career: how quickly building materials can become compromised when moisture, transportation, storage, and construction practices are not properly controlled.
That experience sparked a much larger question:
How does the way we build our homes affect the people living inside them?
That question became the foundation of SENERGY360.
Credentials
A Rare Combination of Credentials
Brian is a licensed General Contractor and holds three professional certifications through the Building Biology Institute:
BBEC
Building Biology Environmental Consultant
Environmental evaluation of indoor environments, building materials, air quality, moisture, and other factors affecting occupant health.
EMRS
Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist
Assessment and mitigation strategies involving electric fields, magnetic fields, radiofrequency radiation, electrical infrastructure, grounding, and low-EMF building design.
BBNC
Building Biology New Construction
Application of Building Biology principles directly into architectural design and new construction.
This combination of construction experience and Building Biology education allows Brian to evaluate a project from two perspectives simultaneously:
How should the building perform?
and
How will that building affect the people living inside it?
That distinction is central to the SENERGY360 philosophy.
Health & Human Performance
Health & Human Performance Are Part of Brian's Background
Brian's interest in healthy environments did not begin as a marketing concept. Health, wellness, and human performance have been part of his life for decades.
He has trained and competed as an elite endurance athlete, including Ironman and XTERRA competition at the World Championship level, and has been recognized among the top 1% of Ironman All-World Athletes.
His health and performance education has also included certifications in:
- Performance, health, and nutrition coaching
- Neurofeedback
- Breath coaching
Elite athletics teaches a simple lesson: performance is rarely determined by one factor.
- Nutrition matters.
- Sleep matters.
- Recovery matters.
- Air matters.
- Water matters.
- Light matters.
- Stress matters.
- Environment matters.
Brian began applying this same systems-based philosophy to buildings.
If we spend most of our lives indoors, then the home itself becomes part of the health equation.
The Framework
The SENERGY360 12 CORE Principles for Healthy Building Design
Twelve interconnected building systems, coordinated as one home.
Architectural Design & Site Planning
Site, climate, orientation, and every major system considered together before the floor plan is final.
Building Science & Performance Enclosure
Climate-appropriate assemblies that control water, air, vapor, and heat.
Healthy Building Materials & Finish Systems
Materials judged on chemistry, emissions, moisture behavior, and durability, not on labels.
Climate Control, Ventilation & Indoor Air Quality
HVAC, ventilation, filtration, humidity, and the enclosure designed to work as one.
Electrical Systems & Low-EMF Design
Panels, circuits, and wiring planned around the electromagnetic environment, not just the code.
Circadian & Healthy Lighting Systems
Daylight and low-flicker lighting that works with the day-night cycle instead of against it.
Low-Voltage & Smart Home Integration
Hardwired-first networks, automation, and monitoring built into the infrastructure from the start.
Solar, Backup Power & Energy Resilience
Solar, batteries, and backup power coordinated with the architecture and the electrical design.
Healthy Plumbing Design
Pipe materials, short runs, and leak protection so clean water stays clean inside the home.
Water Quality & Advanced Filtration
Test the source first, then design the treatment around the actual water.
Mold Prevention & Construction Health
Moisture control and clean jobsite practices from design through final verification.
Interior Wellness Design
Where healthy building becomes healthy living: materials, light, acoustics, and nature in the rooms you live in.
These systems are not treated independently. They are coordinated as one building.
Explore the 12 CORE Principles for Healthy Building DesignInvolvement
From Concept to Construction
Healthy-home decisions should not be made after construction documents are complete. By then, many of the most important decisions have already been locked into the project.
SENERGY360 works best when involved early. We can participate throughout:
Pre-Design
Understanding the property, climate, occupants, health priorities, technologies, construction methods, and project objectives.
Architectural Design
Helping the architect integrate healthy-building principles before major building systems are established.
Engineering & MEP Coordination
Reviewing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, low-voltage, water, solar, and ventilation strategies.
Material Specifications
Establishing materials and assemblies appropriate for the project.
Pre-Construction
Coordinating the builder and trades before work begins.
Construction Oversight
Reviewing implementation, answering questions, identifying conflicts, and helping ensure critical healthy-building requirements survive the construction process.
Commissioning
Verifying that systems perform as intended before occupancy.

Building for Generations
Mass Wall Construction & Building for Generations
Brian has long been an advocate for mass wall construction and durable building assemblies.
The objective is not simply energy efficiency. It is creating structures capable of providing:
- Thermal stability
- Moisture resilience
- Durability
- Acoustic comfort
- Improved indoor environmental control
- Reduced maintenance
- Long service life
SENERGY360 evaluates construction methods based not only on initial cost, but on how the building will perform over generations.

How We Work
Leadership Instead of Piecemeal Consulting
The traditional consulting model often looks like this: a consultant arrives, writes a report, makes recommendations, and leaves the homeowner, architect, and contractor to figure out how to implement them.
SENERGY360 operates differently. We stay involved in the decision-making process.
- We collaborate with the professionals already on the project.
- We review solutions.
- We help resolve conflicts.
- We help translate health objectives into construction documents and real-world installation.
- And when necessary, we help assemble specialists capable of delivering the required systems.
That is why we describe our role as:
Healthy Home Design Leadership
Clients
Who We Work With
SENERGY360 works with people who believe their home should do more than provide shelter. Our clients include:
